Exclusive Live-stream Watch Party: Onkar Ghate’s Keynote Lecture at OCON 2024

Are you unable to attend Objectivist Summer Conference (OCON) 2024, June 13-18 in Anaheim, California? If you’re an ARI Member or a participant in our Atlantis Legacy planned giving program, we invite you to join us for an exclusive live-stream watch party for Onkar Ghate’s keynote lecture, “On Moral Sanction,” on June 15.

Here’s a description of his talk:

“The issue of moral sanction features prominently in Ayn Rand’s work, especially Atlas Shrugged, and in the Objectivist movement and its history. Dr. Ghate will discuss the issue of moral sanction both from the perspective of Rand’s fiction and nonfiction, considering what is distinctive in Rand’s approach and how what she says is often misunderstood, and from the perspective of application to cases past and present.”

Dr. Ghate is a Senior Fellow and Chief Philosophy Officer at the Ayn Rand Institute. A contributing author to many books on Rand’s ideas and philosophy, he is a member of the Ayn Rand University faculty. His deep understanding of Objectivism and his ability to connect philosophical concepts to issues in the world at large make his lectures a highlight of our conferences.

Invitations with details on how to join the Zoom watch party have been emailed to ARI Members and to participants in Atlantis Legacy. On Saturday, June 15, the Zoom space will open at 9:45 am PT. The lecture begins at the top of the hour. The lecture and Q&A will run about 90 minutes. Following that, we’ll leave the Zoom space open for a free-form hangout.
