Between 1960 and 1961, Ayn Rand recorded nearly forty hours of interviews in which she recounted five decades of her life.

The audio was meticulously preserved and is now housed in the Ayn Rand Archives, where it has rarely been heard by the general public. Until now.

ARI Members are invited to join an exclusive Members-only Roundtable on Saturday, December 7, 2024, featuring excerpts from this fascinating and rare audio. The event will be the second in a series of episodic releases of Rand’s biographical interviews, spanning from Rand’s earliest days in Russia all the way to the publication of Atlas Shrugged.

In this episode, attendees will learn about Rand’s earliest literary influences, how she began to concretize a vision of her ideal man, and the series of events that led her to become a fiction writer. Attendees will also hear Rand’s descriptions of the stories she wrote between the ages of eight and ten, which included short fiction, novels, and movie scenarios.

Because this is one of the only known recordings of Rand speaking extemporaneously about her personal life and her most deeply cherished values, attendees will get a rare a glimpse of Ayn Rand the person. To participate in this once-in-a-lifetime event, consider becoming an ARI Member today.
