“At our March 19 online Roundtable, we’ll feature dramatic readings by professional actors of scenes from Atlas Shrugged,” said event host Elan Journo. “Normally these Roundtables are donor-exclusive, but this time we’re opening everything up to the wider community of Ayn Rand fans — so tell a friend.”
The performance will include a scene written by Ayn Rand for her tele-adaptation of the novel (not yet staged), as well as other scenes adapted by Shoshana Milgram, an Ayn Rand scholar who teaches at Virginia Tech. The director will be Ann Ciccolella, artistic director of Austin Shakespeare.
“After the performance, we’ll have a talkback with the cast, along with Ms. Ciccolella, Dr. Milgram and Jeff Britting, who’s the analog and physical archivist at the Ayn Rand Archives,” Journo said. “And I hope you’ll stay on to socialize in our ‘virtual brunch’ breakout rooms hosted by ARI staff and scholars. After that, you’re welcome to take part in the free-form hangout.”
The Roundtable will last approximately two hours, and the hangout will remain open for another hour. It will take place March 19 at 1:00 p.m. Eastern, 10:00 a.m. Pacific. Register here.
“For this very special event, we ask that you take a moment now to register, so we know you’ll be attending,” said Journo. “It’s quick and easy — and it will help us plan. There is no cost for attendance. Please feel free to invite your friends and share the registration link with them.”
