I actually disagree with Ayn Rand that [man is the measure of all things] isn't metaphysical: since sentience is the ultimate extression of nature, then the natural standard of measurement is sentience.
Perfection subordinates to the goal you seek, thus your state of having achieved that goal is perfection.
