In 1979, Ayn Rand welcomed a number of guests to her home for an informal Q&A, and an audio recording of that discussion is today housed at the Ayn Rand Archives. The majority of that nearly two-hour conversation has never been aired publicly. On December 10, 2022, ARI Members will have a unique opportunity to listen to this rare recording.
The Q&A was moderated by Leonard Peikoff, and the questions ranged widely. For example:
- How does Howard Roark remain untouched psychologically by his struggle?
- How do you judge if a person takes ideas seriously?
- Is a principle valid if it can’t be applied in every conceivable situation?
A portion of this exclusive Q&A, about a third of the total, was premiered at the Objectivist summer conference in 2021. We’ll be sharing a great deal more of it at this special, extended Roundtable.
The event will take place on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. Eastern time / 10:00 a.m. Pacific time on Zoom. The breakout rooms for informal chat will be hosted by ARI staff and scholars.
Invitations have already been sent to current ARI Members.
